Eight Years And Getting Stronger in the Mid West

Dick Lloyd
We are pleased to announce that the 9th annual INDIAN ART AND FRONTIER ANTIQUES SHOW and sale is excitedly coming this September 29th, 2018 at its same location in Ann Arbor, MI.

After 8 consecutive seasons, this special event of unexpected high praise and excitement at the Washtenaw Farm Council Fairgrounds will be a powerful buy and sell show. The show has consistently displayed diverse quality frontier antiques from our loyal dealers traveling from across the country, far and near, to offer their historical and diverse antique merchandise relating to America’s early life beginnings and hardships.

Our mission of offering artifacts and Indian art in the name of education and collector promotion remains strong.

With a new year and an established location at 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, the Indian Art and Frontier Antiques show will again be having new dealers welcomed to the show.

The first show in 2010 was a little more into the Antique Indian items and Fur Trade goods (mostly Indian beadwork, effigy ladles, trade silver, weapons, and related goods). As the show progressed and grew, the Frontier Antiques part has evened out the show making it more diverse into the antique early American life and primitives collectibles (iron ware, burl bowls, lighting, etc.). The show is themed on 18th and 19th century Native American and original related frontier period antiques.

Eight years ago a group of collectors and dealers met in Ann Arbor for the 1st show. It was an “experiment” to see if there was a demand for a quality Indian Frontier Antiques show in the Mid-West. Well, there was. That show and crowd of attendees were so positive and impressed with the dealers and their merchandise, the show had to continue. Today it draws exhibitors from across the country. It has been mentioned that “you couldn’t go to a dozen museums to see the quality and the amount of various items that are exhibited at this one show”. It is a great family outing and education for children also. So here we are today, still holding a quality event into its 9th year with the same excitement. The show is a one day, Saturday, show “getting business done in one busy day”, but early buyers are allowed Friday at 2:30 pm. Our dealers save and bring their best for this show, and have remained loyal, and a few new dealers are added each year. We are around 65+ dealers and 120+ dealer tables/booths. The show hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday, with an adult admission of $5.00. There is also an early buyers admission of $10.00 Friday at 2:30 PM, or $20.00 Saturday starting at 7:30 AM. And parking is free, and supervised children are welcome at no charge.

Some dealer tables are still available for September 29th. Contact Dick Lloyd at frontierantiques@att.net or 248-840-7070 for more information. A dealer contract and information are available at www.RTLloydCollection.com .

Oh yea, don’t worry, there is no home U of M football game traffic this Sept. 28th or 29th show weekend. Hope you can make this fun special event. You will enjoy it!
