Event Dates and Times
This is the 23rd year that Another Bullwinkel Show has produced the 4th of July @ the Berkeley Marina. Prior to that, the City of Berkeley had a fireworks only show in the evening. At the request of the City Council, Another Bullwinkel Show created a family-friendly, alcohol-free day leading up to the fireworks.

• The event takes place in a bucolic setting on the south side of the Berkeley Marina amidst boats, beaches and grassy knolls from noon until 10PM.
• It is free to the public, although parking is $20. There is free valet bicycle parking. Roads stay open until 6PM when three freeway entrances are closed to accommodate the pedestrians walking into the event. They are re-opened at 10:30PM after the fireworks.
• There is a main stage at 210 University Ave. where musicians perform until the fireworks begin. This year’s line up TBD as of this posting.
• At one end of the event is an inflatable park with giant slides, a small train, kiddie rides and bounce houses. At the other end, are pony rides, a petting zoo, a giant metal slide, bungee jump and water balls. There’s always a line for free Dragon Boat rides on the bay, and Adventure Playground, which boasts a zip line and lots of hammers and nails for kids to build things, is open all day as well.
• Over 30 food trucks and booths provide fun fair food as well as gourmet meals.
• Approximately 100 booths with crafts and information line the paths.
• This is a green event; all waste is hand-recycled.
• At 9:35PM the City shoots off a fantastic fireworks display near the end of the Berkeley Pier, over the San Francisco Bay.

• Crowd estimates grow from 5,000 at noon to 100,000+ by the time the fireworks go off. These are Berkeley Police Dept. estimates.
• Attendees come from all over the Bay Area as there are not many firework displays on July 4th over the Bay; the only other large display is in San Francisco. The demographics of the East Bay are varied with many different ethnic populations. The earlier part of the event is filled with young families with children in strollers and because it is alcohol-free, the crowd has always been very family friendly. As the night comes on, a more teen and adult population joins in.

• Media sponsors include the East Bay Express, Berkeley Community Media (TV), 510families.com, 7x7, Berkeleyside, Yelp, East Bay Loop and others.
• Over 300 online event sites carry the listing.
• Social media includes Facebook and Twitter with over 3,000 fans; the ABS website with over 40K hits; and the City of Berkeley website.

We put on real Badenov events -- mostly free street festivals, art & culture events, business socials, theme parties, picnics or whatever else sounds fun. We’ve got the scoop on the local scene, where to go and what to do -- we're real Ms. Know-It-Alls. We promise to Do-Right by you!

Yes, my real last name is Bullwinkel! It’s been a ton of fun my whole life and I bring that along to any event that I produce. I’ve been throwing parties since I was a kid – ours was the house where all of the parties happened in town, until our pool caved in from too many people doing cannonballs off the side one night!

It is not a fractured fairy tale that I was a professional ballerina for many years. So I bring an artistic sensibility to every event I produce. My biggest thrill is providing a format so your guests can be creative in a way they never thought possible. This makes my events a big hit! And memorable!

I can help you market your business district, even if it is in Moosylvania or during Rocky times! I have a background in community and economic development from my time as the Executive Director of a large merchant association in Berkeley and Albany, CA. There, I installed a Business Improvement District and built the Solano Avenue Stroll, the East Bay’s largest street festival. The Stroll was designated a National Local Legacy and is housed in the Library of Congress. I've produced lots of other events, including the 4th of July for the City of Berkeley complete with fireworks. Some of my past and present events include the Bay Area Book Festival, Berkeley Festival of the Arts, Berkeley Jazz Festival on Telegraph, Pacific Pinball Exposition, Persian New Year Festival, Spice of Life Festival, Berkeley Tree Lighting Ceremony, Berkeley Celebration of Youth Arts, Chocolate & Chalk Art Festival, Dìa de los Muertos, Doof-a-Palooza, Center Street Summer Cinema, Food, Fashion & Wine, Snow Day in the Gourmet Ghetto & the Rockridge & Holidays on Fourth St.

So even if your name isn’t Rocky, give a call… make that a moose call so we can really hear it!
