Country Summer Finalizes 2017 Lineup
Country Summer, Northern California’s biggest country music festival and Sonoma County’s biggest party, has announced entertainers performing June 16-18 at Sonoma County Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 1350 Bennett Valley Road. Country Music Association award-winner Thomas Rhett, headlines the Chevy Silverado Stage on June 16.
Crowds will hear hits from his newly released Tangled Up Deluxe album, including his new single “Star of the Show.” His platinum-certified sophomore release has produced three chart-toppers, including “Die a Happy Man,” “Crash and Burn” and “T-Shirt.” Darius Rucker, with four solo albums as a country artist to his credit, headlines on June 17. On Southern Style, “I wanted to bring out the way I live, the way my friends live and all the things that are important to us,” Rucker said.
His three previous albums all topped the Billboard Country Album chart, spinning off six No. 1 singles. Justin Moore and Randy Houser both have top billing on June 18. Moore, “a little bit rowdy, a little bit sentimental and a whole lotta roughneck,” is a platinum-selling entertainer with six No. 1 singles and three No. 1 albums. Houser, described by Rolling Stone Country as “one of country music’s biggest voices,” has had three consecutive hits – “How Country Feels,” “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” and “Goodnight Kiss,” his first No. 1 as a songwriter. Country Summer has become a destination country music festival – a country music celebration with top artists, attractions, food and libations. In 2016, the event attracted more than 27,000 fans from 35 states and four foreign countries and was voted Press Democrat’s Best Music Festival of the year. Country Summer is a collaboration between Impact Entertainment and Amaturo Sonoma Media Group – local owner of Froggy 92.9 and other leading radio stations serving Sonoma County. Alan Jacoby, executive producer, and Lawrence Amaturo, owner of Sonoma Media group, had a vision to create an annual country music spectacular that would be the foremost of its kind in Northern California. The vision is now a reality.
Gates open at noon, and music begins at 1:30 p.m. each day of the Country Summer music festival. In addition to the Chevy Silverado Stage, local groups will keep concert-goers entertained with performances on the Santa Rosa Stage between main acts.
Tickets are on sale now. General admission tickets are $79 per day, and three-day admission passes are $209. Single-day reserved seat tickets start from $109. The Pit, which was a huge success in its inaugural year, will offer a limited number of standing room only tickets up close to the stage. Single-day pit passes are $119.
